Regarding other types of cancer, the following has been described in gastric and colorectal cancer: a higher ACE1 expression in the tumor microenvironment compared to healthy tissues [50], a higher susceptibility to prostate cancer in carriers of the D allele [51], and a lower incidence of breast cancer for the genotypes with lower gene expression and for women receiving treatment with iACEs [52]. This evidence concerns the gene ACE and prostate carcinoma.
