A number of reports exist elucidating actin and resistance to anti-cancer drugs: Che et al. reported that a high ACTC1 expression is associated with low sensitivity to the mitogenic inhibitor paclitaxel in non-small cell lung cancer [22], and Yang et al. reported that ACTC1 is a hub gene conferring chemotherapy resistance to a variety of tumors and its expression is upregulated in multidrug-resistant breast cancer cells [23]. The gene discussed is ACTC1; the disease is cancer.
