Studies in patients with aortic valve stenosis undergoing aortic valve replacementwith conventional surgery and TAVI via the transapical and transfemoral routesshowed an inflammatory response in all groups, with higher levels of plasmaleukocytes, CRP, IL-6, and IL-8 in the conventional and transapical transcathetersurgery groups when compared to the transfemoral route.
