The major complications in severe patients include acute kidney injury (AKI), liver damage and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), which are related to hemolysis; for example, hemolysis and rhabdomyolysis induced by massive wasp stings lead to the precipitation of haemoglobin and myoglobin casts in renal tubules, which cause AKI [4,5]. Here, MB is linked to acute kidney injury.
