ACE and periodontal disorder: Patients undergoing antihypertensive therapy with ACE inhibitors may have an increased risk of periodontal disease onset as a result of the elevations in kinin activity due to the inactivation of ACE [53] ACE inhibitors may also trigger dendritic cells to produce IL-12 through the activation of B(2) bradykinin receptors, which has been associated with the pathogenesis of periodontal disease [54,55].
