Figure 5A shows the colocalization of the red-labeled adiposomes with the green-labeled caveolin-1, the major protein in the caveolar structure. This colocalization (orange color) was more prominent in OB-T2D adiposomes than in LHC adiposomes, possibly owing to a higher affinity of GSL-rich adiposomes for caveolae. The adiposome-caveolae colocalization was diminished in GSL-depleted adiposomes, suggesting that GSLs play an important role in this phenomenon (Figure 5A).
