BDNF and coronary artery disorder: From all four neuromarkers studied, GFAP, BDNF, pS100, and NSE, only GFAP was found to be a relevant diagnostic neuromarker for acute postoperative possible brain injury and predictive neuromarker for neurodevelopmental outcomes in cyanotic CHD patients, as GFAP levels correlate with decreased cerebral perfusion during the perioperative period.
