Results from such analysis revealed that symmetrical arthralgia (OR = 2.8, CI: 1.2–6.6; p = 0.02) and passive exposure to tobacco smoking (OR = 3.6; CI: 1.18–10.5; p = 0.02) predominated in pre-RA individuals harboring HLA-DRB1-SE, while alcohol consumption (OR = 0.07, CI: 0.01–0.6; p = 0.01) and childlessness (OR = 0.0, CI: 0–0.59; p = 0.01) were protective factors associated with HLA-DRB1*07:01.
