Time-dependent image reprocessing showed a deficit in MCT of the CFTR−/− trachea at baseline compared to WT, although heterogeneity in CF was apparent and thus this comparison lacked statistical significance Fig 3E); however the difference in MCT after carbachol stimulation was exaggerated between CFTR−/− trachea (0.1 ± 0.1 mm/min) compared to WT (0.9 ± 0.7 mm/min; P<0.01; Fig 3B, 3E, S5 and S6 Videos), showing a significant deficit in MCT. Here, CFTR is linked to cystic fibrosis.
