Under the microscope, we observed that the morphology of the cells separated from NSCLC tissues changed from star-shaped or polygonal to flat and long fusiform, the cytoplasmic synapses decreased obviously, and the cells grew bipolar, and fluorescence of α-SMA which serves as CAF biomarker was observed (Figure 1a), indicating CAFs were isolated successfully [27].
