We observed that genes involved in cholesterol uptake (Lrp2) (denoted in grey across the figures) and biosynthesis (Aacs, Hmgcs1, Mvd, Dhcr24) were significantly upregulated during infection; while those implicated in efflux (Abca1, Abcg1) showed a marked downregulation. The gene discussed is LRP2; the disease is infection.
