IgG binding to whole RhCMV virions and key envelope glycoproteins, glycoprotein B (gB) and the pentameric complex (PC), shared similar kinetics, with detectable responses by 2 weeks post infection in most animals, with a sharp increase in antibody titers between 2–4 weeks post infection followed by a plateau or a more gradual increase in antibody levels throughout the remainder of the pregnancy (Fig 2B–2E). This evidence concerns the gene ERVW-1 and infection.
