This pilot study aimed to investigate the role of a very low dose of irisin in ameliorating bone fragility associated with DM, by examining its effect on bone turnover markers and, trabecular bone microstructure using a non-destructive microcomputed tomography (micro-CT) technique in a single high-dose streptozotocin-induced model of DM1. This evidence concerns the gene FNDC5 and diabetes mellitus.
