To determine the capability of murine neutrophils to produce NETs in response to S. aureus, we co-cultivated BMDNs together with the two different CF isolates, and analyzed them via flow cytometry for a positive staining of myeloperoxidase (MPO), a typical component of NETs, and Sytox, which detects extracellular DNA. Here, MPO is linked to cystic fibrosis.
