In silico analysis determined two overlapping targets of both dysregulated miRNAs involved in mucin-type O-glycosylation being conserved in human and mice, St3gal1 and B4galt1. Here, miR-125a-5p was selected because of its known involvement in several bacterial infections, including C. jejuni infections [10, 17]. This evidence concerns the gene ST3GAL1 and bacterial infectious disease.
