The present study, according to our knowledge, is the first to compare the diagnostic utility of CXCL5, CXCL14 and CXCL16 with the well-established colorectal cancer tumor markers such as CEA and CA 19–9, and CRP (the marker of inflammation), not only in the whole group of colorectal cancer patients, but also after division to TNM stages I-IV. The gene discussed is CXCL14; the disease is colorectal cancer.
