This anti-inflammatory effect is demonstrated by decreases in obesity-related inflammatory markers such as C-reactive protein (CRP), interleukin-6 (IL-6), zonulin (a marker of intestinal permeability), TMAO (cardiovascular disease-related microbial metabolite), and IL-1 (proinflammatory factor) and increased levels of IL-10 (anti-inflammatory factor) in non-obese individuals are individuals who are physically active [27]. Here, IL6 is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
