SLC7A11, a molecule that protects cancer cells from ferroptosis-induced cell death, is overexpressed in different types of cancers, including ovarian cancer, lung cancer, triple-negative breast cancer, PDAC, renal cell carcinoma, liver cancer, and glioma, and it is associated with aggressive phenotypes and poor prognosis[16,46,89]. This evidence concerns the gene SLC7A11 and ovarian carcinoma.
