Autosomal dominant mutations in the MAPT gene encoding for Tau lead to a relatively small group of frontotemporal lobar degenerations (FTLD-Tau), which are classified among frontotemporal dementia (Josephs, 2018) diagnosed mostly at 45–65 years of age (Hutton et al., 1998; Spillantini et al., 1998). This evidence concerns the gene MAPT and frontotemporal dementia.
