After oral administration of GLC for 12 weeks, the oral glucose tolerance of the mice was analyzed, and it was found that the HFHSD induced a prominent increase in serum insulin and blood glucose levels in NAFLD mice, while GLC and metformin significantly attenuated hyperinsulinemia and hyperglycemia in the NAFLD mice (Figure 1D–G). This evidence concerns the gene INS and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
