The fact that mifamurtide increases IL-10 levels both in macrophages and in aggressive OS tumor cells could be due to the activation of NF-κB as a pro-inflammatory factor, which activates transcription of IL-10 and decreases IL-6 production, leading to an increase in IL-10 levels in metastatic tumor cells. Here, NFKB1 is linked to metastatic neoplasm.
