Findings demonstrate that the stem and leaves of Panax ginseng (SLG) showed significant anti-obesity effects in diet-induced obese mice, as evidenced by reduced serum levels of triglycerides (TGs), free fatty acids (FFAs), low-density lipoprotein (LDL)-cholesterol, total cholesterol (TC), insulin, glucose, and leptin with reduced overall body and liver weight. This evidence concerns the gene INS and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
