Genetic variants of anti-mullerian hormone (AMH) and its type 2 receptor (AMHR2) also have been identified in about 7% of women with PCOS by NIH criteria, with 37 such variants having reduced in vitro bioactivity and diminished AMH inhibition of CYP17A1 as a risk factor for PCOS [50,51].
