Inflammation in endometriosis is driven by elevated levels of macrophages and cytokines, including interleukins (IL-1β, IL-6, IL-8, IL-17), tumor necrosis factor α (TNFα), cyclooxygenase 2 (COX-2), and macrophage inhibitory factor (MIF) [8,10]. Here, PTGS2 is linked to endometriosis.
