Moreover, the increase in TC (105.4 ± 5.5 vs. 74.3 ± 0.8) and LDL-C (35.2 ± 3.6 vs. 12.4 ± 1.5) values is indicative of dyslipidemia and the significant increase in serum soluble CD163 protein (0.40 ± 0.08 vs. 0.04 ± 0.1) could be associated with macrophage activation and general inflammatory status. Here, CD163 is linked to metabolic syndrome.
