If the aim of such a study is to address drug interactions, the use of Verapamil in patients under AD treatment (e.g., Aripiprazole, Galantamine, and Donepezil) should be considered because major interactions occur due to Verapamil’s inhibition of the cytochrome P450, CYP3A4 isoenzyme, thus decreasing the metabolism of these drugs [37,38]. This evidence concerns the gene CYP3A4 and Alzheimer disease.
