Based on these studies, we have proposed a working model suggesting that Cdk4/6 deficiency or CDK4/6 inhibition in cancer cells triggers DNA damage and subsequent activation of the cGAS-STING-dependent type I IFN production, which activates IFNAR1 and induce ISG expression to enhance immune cell infiltration and anti-tumor immune responses in TME.
