Mutations in the BRAF gene, which is a member of the RAF family, have been identified in patients with skin cancer (malignant melanoma), thyroid cancer, colon cancer, and lung cancer [11]; thus, BRAF inhibitors and MEK inhibitors, which target the pathway downstream of BRAF, have been used as anticancer agents in recent years [12, 13]. This evidence concerns the gene BRAF and malignant colon neoplasm.
