UCHL1 and neoplasm: While the role of UCHL1 in health has not been well-characterized, the literature is rife with reports of its role in diseases, including neurologic disorders, such as Parkinson’s [24,25] and Alzheimer’s diseases [26], and in cancer biology, where it has been characterized as both an oncogenic factor [27,28,29] and as a tumor repressor [30,31,32,33].
