In gastric cancer, a new oncogene, GSE1, can positively regulate the expression of SLC7A5 in human gastric cancer cells by increasing the stability of the SLC7A5 transcript through a post-transcriptional regulatory mechanism and promoting tumour cell proliferation and metastasis, which was lost after knockdown by shSLC7A5 [51]. This evidence concerns the gene SLC7A5 and neoplasm.
