These reports have shown that EA can ameliorate cognitive impairment in mouse models of Alzheimer’s disease by inhibiting fibrin/Aβ deposition and deactivating the HMGB1/RAGE signaling pathways, as well as alleviate neuroinflammation by downregulating hippocampal HMGB1/RAGE signaling [39,40]. Here, HMGB1 is linked to Alzheimer disease.
