In this study, we show that the pharmacologically targeting using SR9009, a Rev-Erbα agonist, successfully protected against IR-ALI in a rat model via decreasing lung edema, neutrophil infiltration, PAP, production of inflammatory cytokines, NF-κB and MAPK activation, leukocyte recruitment, and cell apoptosis. This evidence concerns the gene NFKB1 and acute respiratory distress syndrome.
