Digoxin is a glycoside used to treat congestive heart failure and strongly inhibits RORγT, the main IL-17 transcription factor.36 The inhibitory action of digoxin on the Th17 response significantly improves autoimmune arthritis,22 and chronic use of this drug significantly reduces the risk of bone fractures due to osteoporosis.37 In this study, IL-17 is strongly associated with impaired mineralized tissue health22,37 and the maintenance of chronic inflammation in the dental pulp. Here, IL17A is linked to congestive heart failure.
