When examining the location of osteoglycin-positive cells, no significant differences were observed between the intima-media layer and the adventitial layer in both patients with T2D (95 ± 29.7 vs. 178 ± 63.6; P = 0.132) and control groups (77 ± 42.7 vs. 124 ± 48.1; P = 0.251; Fig. 4C). This evidence concerns the gene OGN and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
