Multiple linear regression analyses were performed to investigate the association between markers of myocardial fibrosis on CMR (LGE, T1, ECV) and SLE-related variables [clinical disease activity, lupus nephritis, chronic kidney disease, anti-cardiolipin and/or anti-beta-2 glycoprotein I antibodies, and lupus anticoagulant (LAC)] with adjustment for traditional risk factors. T1 values were elevated in SLE patients compared to healthy controls (1031 ± 36 ms vs. 1019 ± 25 ms, p = 0.01). This evidence concerns the gene APOH and systemic lupus erythematosus.
