Validation at the protein level confirmed that upregulation of GCNT1 in prostate cancer cells promotes loss of Galectin-1 (Fig. 4E) and analysis of The Cancer Genome Atlas Prostate Adenocarcinoma (TCGA PRAD) cohort31,35,36 revealed a correlation between the GCNT1 and LGALS1 genes in clinical prostate cancer tissue (Fig. 4F). The gene discussed is GCNT1; the disease is prostate carcinoma.
