H19 and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency: In the present study, we highlight that: high pre-pregnancy BMI regulated H19DMR methylation in maternal blood and altered some parameters of fetal and newborn growth and fetal adiposity; IGF2 and H19 gene expression did not seem to be the link between obesity and the offspring outcomes investigated; and H19DMR methylation and expression of IGF2 and H19 genes in cord blood and especially in maternal decidua and placental villi regulated several parameters of fetal growth and body composition.
