Trx protects the cellagainst oxidative stress by providing electrons to peroxidases andremoving hydrogen peroxide and peroxynitrite.21,36 Several diseases, including cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular andneurological disorders, and rheumatoid arthritis have been linkedto the Trx system due to these important reactions in the cell.37,38 The findings of this investigation demonstrated that potassium bromateions inhibited TrxR activity in vivo, increased the enzyme activityof arbutin, and decreased the inhibition effect caused by potassiumbromate ions.
