Clinical trials evaluating the combination of non-selective epigenetic drugs (such as HMAs) with checkpoint inhibitors have mainly reported modest activity in the R/R AML setting (12, 153, 176), while approaches combining the anti-CD47 antibody magrolimab with azacitidine with or without venetoclax resulted in very promising response rates in clinical trials (162, 177). Here, CD47 is linked to acute myeloid leukemia.
