Polymorphisms in PLAT (e.g., tPA‐7351C/T, tPA‐Alu insertion/deletion [I/D], tPA‐25 I/D) have been reported to be associated with clinical disorders such as stroke,11, 12, 13 myocardial infarction,14, 15 temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE),16 and increased susceptibility to some bacterial infections.17, 18.
