PRKN and Hepatic fibrosis: Recent studies (35–37) have found that PINK1/Parkin-mediated mitochondrial autophagy is also involved in the occurrence and development of liver-related diseases, including NAFLD, liver fibrosis, HCC, etc. In this study, it is observed that PINK1 and Parkin protein levels were decreased both in the liver of HFD rats and FFAs-induced HepG2 cells, which were reversed by corn peptides administration.
