NR4A1 and cancer: Studies in this laboratory have identified a series of bis-indole derived (CDIM) compounds that bind to the orphan nuclear receptor 4A1 (NR4A1) and act as inverse agonists to inhibit multiple pro-oncogenic NR4A1-dependent genes/pathways associated with cancer cell growth, survival and migration/invasion (Safe et al., 2021; Safe and Karki, 2021).
