Prophagocytic signals such as CD47 on AML cells can be induced by cell damage after treatment with chemotherapy or epigenetic drugs avoid phagocytosis, and magrolimab, an anti-CD47 antibody has been under investigation in the treatment of myeloid malignancies after chemotherapy (Jaiswal et al., 2009).
