The cause is uncertain, but similar findings have been reported in other photoreceptor and cone–rod dystrophies,18, 19, 20, 21, 22 including those related to CRX variants.23, 24, 25 RBP3 is transactivated by CRX; however, unlike CRX cases, RBP3-related retinal disease is associated with high myopia. This evidence concerns the gene RBP3 and Abnormal retinal morphology.
