AKT1 and Anxiety: In addition to increases in anxiety-like behavior, the adolescent-exposed animals displayed several anxiety-related biomarkers, including upregulation of the ERK 1–2 and the protein-kinase B (Akt) glycogen-synthase-kinase-3 (GSK-3) signaling pathways in the NAcSh, as well as a large decrease in D1 receptor expression.
