CSF serological analysis revealed cross-reactivity between a glial cell adhesion molecule and another EBNA1 epitope in 20%–25% of patients with MS.39 T-cell immunity depends on other EBV epitopes, and HLA-restricted CD4+T cells might be primed against two EBV-specific peptides and the CNS antigen RASGRP2.40 ANO2, a chloride channel protein that is important in several cell types and expressed in glial cells and neurons, has recently been investigated as an autoantigen in MS. The gene discussed is CD4; the disease is myeloid sarcoma.
