We observed higher levels in younger African American patients of MYC and NOTCH1, 2 genes that are well known for their relevance in cancer.29,30,31,32 Clinically, efforts are being made to develop anti-NOTCH targeted therapies, primarily through the use of γ-secretase inhibitors and monoclonal antibodies against Notch receptors.33 Younger African American patients with TNBC showing disproportionate enhancement of NOTCH1 could potentially benefit from these novel therapies. Here, MYC is linked to cancer.
