Abnormal adrenocortical hormone levels were noted, with cortisol levels decreasing to 8.43 nmol/L (reference range, 185–624 nmol/L) at 8 AM and adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) being >1250 pg/mL (reference range, 5–46 pg/mL) at 8 AM (refer to Table 1 for laboratory blood test results); therefore, the patient was diagnosed with adrenal insufficiency.
