CRP, IL-6, fibrinogen, D-dimer, and ferritin levels were elevated in 115 (59.9%), 131 (68.2%), 120 (62.5%), 101 (52.6%), and 119 (62.0%) patients, respectively, while PCT levels were above the reference value of 0.1 μg/L in 56 (29.2%) and even in fewer patients (11, 5.7%) above the standard cut-off value for marked infection of 0.25 μg/L. Here, IL6 is linked to infection.
