In 35 patients with KRAS mutated metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC), patients with clearance of the KRAS mutation detected by ddPCR at four weeks on treatment with chemotherapy and bevacizumab were found to have improved overall survival compared to those without ctDNA clearance on therapy (42 months vs 18 months, p < 0.001) [13]. The gene discussed is KRAS; the disease is metastatic colorectal cancer.
